An easy winter walking, adventure holiday south of the Atlas Mountains in the Morocco Sahara desert. Where the Draa River disappears into the sands of the Sahara and leaves behind great fields of dunes, the most impressive of which are at Erg Chegaga. This is the best place in Morocco to get a real taste of the Sahara and the experience is made more special by the comfort and charm of our desert camps. Four easy days of walking will take us through groves of palm trees and from ridge to ridge across the highest dunes with our local guide - an experience that is out of this world.
Away from the desert, the accommodation that we use is also of a high standard - 2 nights at a riad in Marrakech and 2 nights at a kasbah in Ouled Driss. Each of these establishments is a relic from an earlier age, lovingly restored for use as a guesthouse. This super new winter walking holiday will show you Morocco at its best - from Marrakech to the Sahara.

Arriving in Marrakech we drive across the Atlas Mountains to the edge of the Sahara desert. Here we have 4 days of easy trekking staying each night in a comfortable fixed camp. Each day's walk will be 3 to 4 hours with one optional longer day of around 5 hours to reach the highest dune in Morocco. Within our EASY grade we have given this holiday the highest rating which takes into account the longer day's hike to the highest dune.
