Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Kathmandu. Complimentary airport transfers are provided. KE Land Only package services begin with the evening meal. Overnight at the group hotel.
Day 2: An early start for the dramatic flight through the mountains to Phaplu (2469m). After lunch we have a short trek to our first night's halt at the campsite in Salleri (2390m).
Day 3: We begin our trekking today travelling south to the village of Dorpu, crossing the Khoriya Khola and ascending to the sherpa village of Ghatte Khola. After lunch we continue to a viewpoint from which we can see Mera Peak, Numbur and Thamserku. An undulating walk then take us to our camp at Dandakharka (2560m).
Day 4: During today's trek, we can see several of the world's highest peaks. An optional early morning walk to a nearby ridge gives us a first view of Everest, before we have breakfast and trek to the Sisa Khola. Here, we cross the river and continue up to Jhape (2820m) where we camp with views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Thamserku, Makalu and Kanchenjunga!
Day 5: We continue to have views of four of the world's highest peaks, as we climb steadily upwards through forest and along one of the finest ridge walks you can imagine. We camp at the base of PK Peak (3785m).
Day 6: The steep ascent brings us within a couple of hours to the summit of Pikey Peak (4065m) where we are rewarded with some phenomenal views of Everest and the Khumbu mountains. On a clear day, we can also see the distant Annapurnas. We descend to Jhase Bhanjyang for lunch and then to camp at the foot of the Lamjura La.
Day 7: An easy walk today takes us to Junbesi and then to our camp in the Mopung Valley. The afternoon is free to visit the Buddhist monastery of Thupten Choling, one of the largest and most important in the area.
Day 8: After a rest and a good breakfast we trek northwards across the beautiful Pare Danda to camp at the yak pastures below the Dudh Kund. Here we camp for two nights.
Day 9: We have a day of exploration in the shadow of the Dudh Kund (4561m). With many routes to choose from we have the option of a short or long walk. We return to camp at the yak pastures.
Day 10: Leaving the high pastures with turn south. Passing through the sherpa village of Timba we descent to Ringmu, which is situated on the main trail from Jiri to Lukla. Camp in Ringmu.
Day 11: Our last trekking day is short with an easy trail back to Phaplu, where we camp in readiness for our flight in the morning.
Day 12: Taking a morning flight to Kathmandu, we will have plenty of time after lunch for further sightseeing or shopping. Overnight at the group hotel.
Day 13: We have a full day for sightseeing in Kathmandu. This evening we will have a celebration dinner. Our final night in Nepal. Hotel.
Day 14: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. Complimentary airport transfers are provided.
This holiday involves going to high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 3500 metres. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully.
