The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.

You must bring the following items:

Cross-country Ski boots* - see Ski Equipment

Shoes or trainers (sneakers)

Socks

Underwear

Thin inner and thick outer technical skiing socks (5 pairs)

Ski or mountaineering salopettes/ski pants

Waterproof over trousers (rain pants) if above not waterproof

Windproof/waterproof jacket

Long johns(thermal underwear)

Thermal base layer shirts (2 short sleeve, 2 long sleeve)

T-shirt or casual shirt to travel in

Fleece jacket

Lightweight warm jacket (preferably down filled)

Warm hat

Lightweight balaclava or facemask

Sun glasses

Lightweight thermal gloves

Windproof and waterproof mittens

Extra pair of warm mittens

Selection of dry bags (to keep trek bag contents dry)

Daypack 30 litres

Thermos Flask/Bottle

Basic First Aid Kit - refer to trip dossier for details

Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)

Water bottle 1 litre

Wash bag and toiletries

Antibacterial hand wash

The following items are optional:

Spare laces

Scarf/Neck Warmer

Camera, film/memory card, spare batteries

Pen-knife (remember to put sharp objects in hold baggage

Note:

The following equipment for cross country skiing is provided locally (marked with an * below). Please let KE know your boot size at least 6 weeks before departure. If you wish to use your own cross country skis this is fine but please let us know as this may affect the transfers.
