School Adventure - Berber Villages & Toubkal
The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
You must bring the following items:
Hiking boots
Socks
Underwear
Trekking trousers / pants
Windproof/waterproof jacket
Waterproof over-trousers / rain-pants
Thermal baselayer shirts
Shirts or T-shirts (at least 1 long-sleeved with collar)
Fleece jacket or warm jumper
Sunhat
Warm hat (eg. fleece or wool)
Lightweight thermal or fleece gloves
Eyewear - Sunglasses
Daypack c.30 litres 1800 cu in
Headtorch / headlamp with spare batteries
Sun protection (including total bloc for lips, nose etc.)
Water bottles 1 Litre / 2 pint (x2)
Antibacterial handwash
Washbag and toiletries
Small trek towel
Small padlock (to lock your KE kit bag)
3 season sleeping bag (comfortable to 5°C / 40°F)*
Basic First Aid Kit including: A broad spectrum antibiotic, antiseptic cream, throat lozenges, diarrhoea treatment (Imodium), painkillers, plasters and blister treatment, Insect repellent, and re-hydration salts (Dioralite)
The following items are optional:
Trainers / sneakers or sandals for evening wear
Sleeping bag liner
Warm jacket (recommended for late November April)
Trekking poles (recommended)
Camera, media, spare batteries
Shorts (please be culturally sensitive when wearing shorts. Do not wear in villages)
Pocket-knife (note: always pack sharp objects in hold baggage)
Repair kit (eg. needle, thread, duct tape)
Travel clothes
Flavouring for drinking water eg. Vit C tablets/powdered juice (water is purified by iodine on trek, and you might wish to hide the taste)
