Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Catania. A single, timed group transfer from Catania Airport is provided with the local guide accompanying the group on the public bus to the hotel. KE group package services begin with dinner in a local restaurant.
Day 2: We take the hydrofoil from Milazzo to the island of Vulcano and trek up to the crater rim. After a visit to the hot springs, we hop on the hydrofoil to Lipari, where we check in at our appartment accommodation.
Day 3: We catch the morning hydrofoil to Salina and from the Port of Rinella take the bus to Val di Chiesa. We have a great hike to the top of Fossa delle Felci (960m). In the afternoon, we take the hydrofoil back to Lipari and our accommodation.
Day 4: In the morning, we explore the south-west coast of Lipari, hiking down to the southern tip. Then, we take the afternoon ferry to Stromboli, where we check in to our hotel and have the option to take a stroll on the island's black beaches.
Day 5: Time to visit the village of San Vincenzo in the morning. In the afternoon, we will hike to the top of the island's fiery volcano (activity dependent). We spend a second night on Stromboli.
Day 6: We take the hydrofoil back to Milazzo and transfer to Taormina to visit the historical centre and the famous Greek theatre. In the afternoon, we continue our transfer to our hotel, situated at 1900 metres on the south side of Mount Etna.
Day 7: We have a great day-hike on the southern slopes of Mount Etna, crossing cinder cones and extinct craters, with a wonderful panorama of Sicily's southern coastline. We return to our hotel and take the public bus to our hotel in Catania.
Day 8: After breakfast, there is a group transfer to Catania Airport by public bus with the local guide. KE Land Only package services end on arrival at Catania Airport.
This holiday involves going to moderately high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 2500 metres. Most people will have no difficulty with this level of altitude but before coming on the holiday, we recommend you read the advice on trekking at altitude.
