Holiday Itinerary

Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Saas Grund, near Saas Fee. KE group package services begin with dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 2: Take a cable car from Saas Fee, followed by a short walk to the Britannia Hut (3030m). The Hohlaub Glacier provides a great place to practice snow and ice skills. Overnight at the hut.

Day 3: Ascend to the summit of the Strahlhorn (4190m), via a long easy-angled snow slope. Return to overnight at the Britannia Hut.

Day 4: Climb the Allalinhorn (4027m) via the classic normal route. Descend to the north and take the cable car down to Saas Grund. Overnight at the group hotel.

Day 5: An excellent approach walk from Saas Almagell to the Almageller Hut (2894m) on the south side of the Weissmies.

Day 6: Today, we traverse the Weissmies, ascending via its south-south-east ridge and descending its glaciated northeast flank to our overnight stop at the Weissmies Hut (2726m).

Day 7: Climb the Lagginhorn via its west-south-west ridge and descend via same route. We then use the cable car to descend to the valley and the group hotel in Saas Grund.

Day 8: KE group packages services end with breakfast at the hotel.

Altitude

This holiday involves going to high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 3500 metres. This is not something that you should worry about; the human body is quite capable of adapting to a very wide range of altitudes, but it is important that we follow some simple rules in order to acclimatise successfully. Before coming on this holiday you should read the advice on trekking at high altitude.
