Mount Ararat Climb - Turkey's Fabled Mountain
The following checklist should help you with your packing. As a general rule, you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum.
You must bring the following items:
Approach shoes or trekking boots
Mountaineering boots (see section below)
Gaiters
Socks
Underwear
Trainers/ sneakers or sandals for camp
Trekking trousers / pants
Waterproof overtrousers / rain-pants
Waterproof jacket
Long johns (thermal underwear)
Thermal baselayer shirts
T-shirts and/or casual shirts
Fleece jacket or warm jumper
Warm jacket (down)
Sunhat
Warm hat or balaclava
Eyewear-Sunglasses
Thermal gloves
Warmer overgloves or mittens
Small padlock (to lock trek bag)
Daypack 40 litres / 2400 cubic inches
Headtorch / headlamp with spare batteries
Basic First Aid Kit - refer to trip dossier for details
Sun protection (including for lips)
Water bottles 1 litre / 1 quart (x2)
Washbag and toiletries
Antibacterial hand wash
Small towel
4 Season sleeping bag
Mountaineering boots (B2 minimum). See notes below
Crampons (preferably with step-in bindings)
Ice axe
