Tcherskiy Mountains Explorer

My expectations of Siberia was simply wrong. I expected a vast wasteland, and instead found magnificent mountains, gorgeous rivers, lush valleys, and the cultural events were wonderful: reindeer herders, isolated villages, museums, bartering for deer, and moose meat, local summer camps, the list goes on and on.

I most enjoyed the vast pristine wildness, The excellence of local staff, Slava the interpreter in particular who was unfailingly patient and ready to answer concerns and questions. Being home hosted in Sasyr and Khonuu was great and the insight into Life in Siberian Settlements.
I arranged 2 treks this one and the Mongolian Mountain Climbing adventure; the support from the office staff I received was excellent.

I had a great time. I loved it - not only the trek but our exposure to Siberian people, the Yakut horsemen and boatmen, the Ivenk reindeer herdsmen, the villages, everything. Brilliant!
