St Paul Trail - Turkey
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Antalya. A single group transfer will be provided. KE Land Only package services begin with the overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: We drive for approximately 1 hour to Aspendos, the official start of the St Paul's Trail. We have time to look around this ancient city which dates back to 1000 BC, before continuing our drive to Beskonak which we reach after a further hour of driving. Overnight in a simple pension.
Day 3: We follow in the footsteps of St Paul climbing on small paths through the spectacular Koprulu Canyon to the ancient city of Selge. After looking around the ruins which include a well preserved amphitheatre, we transfer back to our pension in Beskonak.
Day 4: Returning this morning to selge, we walk the next stage of the trail on a mix of trails from farm tracks and shepherds paths to Roman roads. Our destination today is Caltepe which we reach in the late afternoon. Here we stay in a village guest house.
Day 5: We begin with a 1 hour transfer to the village of Kesme where we resume our walk. We follow farm roads and open fields to a pass at Belsarnic and then descend to the village of Kasimlar where we check into a small pension.
Day 6: After a short (15 minutes) transfer we start walking through the Tota Yaylasi Forrest Park. Our route contours Sarp Dagi and through the village of Yenikoy to the Roman ruins of Adada. From Adada we we transfer (1 hour) to Egirdir where we stay at a Pension overlooking the lake.
Day 7: In the morning we take a walk above the town for views over the lake. In the late morning we drive (1.5 hours) to the must-see ancient city of Sagalassos located at 1500 metres elevatuion in the Western Taurus mountains. From Sagalassos we return to Antalya (3 hours) where we check into our hotel. The evening is free to explore the attractive old town and harbour.
Day 8: We have a free day to further explore the old part of town or to enjoy the beach. There is a single group transfer to Antalya Airport in the evening, where KE Land Only package services end.
