Best of the Lycian Way - Turkey's Coastal Trek
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Antalya. A single group transfer will be provided. KE Land Only package services begin with the evening meal at the hotel.
Day 2: We have a highly scenic drive of around 3 - 4 hours to reach the Western end of the Lycian Way close to Fethiye. To stretch our legs we walk for 2 to 3 hours along the start of the Way to the beuatiful bay of Oludeniz. At the end of the day we have a short transfer to our hotel in Fethiye.
Day 3: A day of classic Mediterranean coastal walking in the shadow of Babadag Peak. Passing through several small villages where the pace of life is from an earlier time, we walk from Ovacik to Kirme where we meet our vehicle for the short transfer back to Fethiye.
Day 4: Starting at Faralya we walk another sensational stretch of coast on small trails passing through Butterfly valley to reach the beach at Yuva around lunchtime. We have some time for swimming here before continuing to Kabak village and transfer back to Fethiye.
Day 5: Having seen the Mediterranean from the coast we now observe the coast from the Mediterranean as we take a half day boat trip to Kekova island and walk up to Simena castle. After the boat trip we transfer to the eastern end of the Lycian Way (3 - 4 hours) to Adrasan.
Day 6: Walking from our hotel, we climb to a pass at 470 metres (1549 feet), then follow a brilliant coastal path all the way to Cape Gelidonia with its two lighthouses. We return by road to Adrasan.
Day 7: A short transfer takes us to Ulupinar and follow the Lycian Way to the Flames of Chimaira - where lighted methane vents from the rocks. We finish the day with a gradual descent to the beach at Cirali and the ancient city of Olympos. In the afternoon we transfer (30 minutes) to Antalya where we check into the group hotel.
Day 8: We have a free day to explore the old part of town or enjoy the beach. There is a single group transfer to Antalya Airport in the evening, where KE Land Only package services end.
