Zarif, the local agent, was brilliant - extremely funny and very knowledgeable. Our guide Jose was also brilliant. He and Zarif were some double act. Nothing but praise. All the people we met were very friendly and welcoming. There is no hassle. The scenery is exquisite. It's hot in August!! My most enjoyed aspect of the trip was being invited into the nomads homes and sharing their food (bread, yoghurt, cheese); all of the passes - incredible views; splashing about in an ice cold lake or stream to cool down at the end of the day. This is our fourth year with KE - we know we can rely on you.

I had a great time. It was interesting on multiple levels, the hikes were great, the people were great, the cultural experiences were great. I would highly recommend this trip, this leader and this crew.
The length of trip worked well. The hikes were great and the mountains are picturesque. The guide and the local Tajik people were a lot of fun. The area is quite interesting from a cultural and historic vantage point.
It met my expectations in that it was fascinating on multiple levels. It would be highly recommeded for the traveller that has been "everywhere" on the adventure travel circuit.

Great trip in an off-the-beaten track area. The combination of trekking and culture (in Samarkand) was good.

I most enjoyed trekking in the Fann Mountains, meeting the nomads and partying with the donkey men.

There was a very personal approach from the office (an email to ask if I'd got my visas, for example)which was very much appreciated. I also like being able to access all the details of my trips on the website.
Tim was meticulous in his approach. He was very hands on and worked very hard to make sure that everything ran smoothly and that even the smallest details had been thought of. He put a lot of effort into building relationships with both the group and the support staff and he always knew what was going on. It was simply a model of how to lead a trip.
I thought the trip was excellent. The arrangements went very smoothly and the group was able to just sit back and enjoy it. The scenery was spectacular and the walking extensive (as hoped). It was very hot, but that was apparently exceptional. Overall, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.
Spectacular scenery and campsites completely off the beaten track.
