Day 1: Rendezvous at Entebbe Airport, meet our local guide and drive to our hotel in Fort Portal. Afternoon at leisure. KE Land Only package services begin with the pick up at Entebbe.
Day 2: This morning we take our first primate walk in Kibale Forest, where the main attraction is chimpanzees. Later in the day there's a chance to explore the sights of Fort Portal and to visit a tea plantation. We spend a second night in Fort Portal.
Day 3: Drive through the crater lakes area, visiting Lake Nkuruba en route to the Queen Elizabeth Park and our overnight accommodation at the Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 4: A full day's activities in the park, including a game drive, a boat ride along the Kazinga Channel and a visit to Katwe salt lake. Overnight at the Mweya Safari Lodge.
Day 5: Today, we drive through Ishasha, where we may spot tree climbing lions, en route to Bwindi. Overnight at the Kitandara Tented Camp or or Nkuringo safari lodge.
Day 6: A guided forest walk in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or the Mgahinga National Park in search of one of the habituated gorilla families. Overnight at Lake Kitandara Tented Camp or Nkuringo safari lodge.
Day 7: A second day of guided forest walking in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga National Park in search of other primate species. In the late afternoon, we transfer to Kabale, to overnight in a local inn.
Day 8: Visit Lake Bunyonyi and spend some time on and around the lake. Later, drive to Mbarara and check in at a hotel.
Day 9: Early start for the drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Game drive and boat ride on the lake. Mid afternoon, 5 hour drive back to Entebbe and check in to our guesthouse.
Day 10: Airport shuttles are provided by the guesthouse to Entebbe Airport, where KE Land Only package services end.
This holiday involves going to moderately high altitude. During the course of your trip you will reach altitudes in excess of 2500 metres. Most people will have no difficulty with this level of altitude but before coming on the holiday, we recommend you read the advice on trekking at altitude.
