Vesuvius, Pompei & the Amalfi Coast
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at the group hotel in Naples. Late afternoon briefing from the guide and KE Land Only package services begin with dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Morning hydrofoil to the Isle of Capri. We visit the Matromania caves and the 'Terrazza di Tragara' during our 3 hour walk. Then we have some free time to enjoy a dip in the sea and to look around the village. Return hydrofoil to Naples and overnight at our hotel.
Day 3: This morning we transfer by train to Pompeii, where we spend some time walking around this incredible 'sleeping' Roman town. Then after lunch, we travel by bus to Mount Vesuvius and hike to the crater rim on a switchback trail, with great views. We return by train to Naples and spend a third night at our hotel there.
Day 4: We take the public bus to Agerola and from there walk on the edge of the forested Lattari Mountains, with magnificent view over the Amalfi Coast. After a 5-hour day-hike, we return to Agerola for dinner and overnight at a hotel.
Day 5: Starting in Agerola, we take a panoramic path into the Ferriere Valley. We walk through woodland and via Pogerola to Amalfi, where we have time to explore or to chill out on the beach. Returning to Agerola on the public bus, we have a pizza-making demonstration at our hotel.
Day 6: After breakfast, we take the bus to Amalfi and hike into the Valley of the Mills (Valle Mullini). At Ravello, we spend some time in this picturesque cliff-top village, beofore completing our circuit walk back to Amalfi. Once again, we take the public bus back to Agerola.
Day 7: Today we hike the 'Walk of the Gods' an ancient terraced mule path linking the villages of Agerola and Positano. Depending on the sea conditions, we return to Amalfi by boat, then take the public bus back to Agerola.
Day 8: KE Land Only package services end after breakfast. A single shuttle bus transfer to Naples Airport is provided.
