Dolomites Via Ferrata
Holiday Itinerary
Day 1: Rendezvous at Venice's Marco Polo Airport. KE Land Only package services begin with a single timed transfer followed by a short walk (30 minutes) to the first night's accommodation at Refuge Lavaredo (2344m.) located at the base of the towers of the Tre Cime Lavaredo.
Day 2: We start the day walking below the walls of the Tre Cime. Today's route is an ascent of the Torre di Toblin via the Sentiero delle Scalette - a WW1 military way. We then descend to the Locatelli refuge (2405m.). Approximate walking / climbing time: 6 hours. Ascent / Descent: +400m. / -350m.
Day 3: From the refuge Locatelli we have a wonderful excursion on the Bonacossa Track, through the Cadini di Misurina group to reach the refuge de Fonda Savio (2367m). 5 hours. +/- 350m.
Day 4: We continue on the Bonacossa track passing the Lake of Misurina and up to the Col Tre Croci before reaching our overnight halt at the Refuge Lorenzi. 5 hours. +400m. / -550m.
Day 5: Today's route is the Via 'Ivano-Dibona' which is both an interesting climb and an historical excursion, as we will see several military instillations from WW1 en route. Tonight's accommodation is at the refuge Dibona (2083m.) below the Tofana and is serviced by a narrow road running up the mountain from the valley. 7 hours. +300m. / -1400m.
Day 6: Our final via Ferrata is the Giovani Lipella, a superb route which will test our skills and keep us entertained. The route climbs the NW face of the Tofana di Rozes by a series of natuarl rock ledges, gullies and open face scrambles. Sensational exposure and continuously interesting. After the climb we return to the Dibona refuge. 7 - 8 hours. +1000m. / - 1000m.
Day 7: We descend in around 2 hours (-800m.) to San Vito di Cadore from where we have a group transfer to Venice, Marco Polo Airport where KE Land Only package services end.
