In November, Antarctica welcomes visitors with the onset of the austral summer, offering relatively milder temperatures and an incredible opportunity to witness the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of this pristine polar region. Embark on a 14-day Antarctic cruise aboard the MS Expedition, specially equipped for polar exploration. This  journey commences in Ushuaia, the southernmost city on Earth in the Argentinean part of Tierra del Fuego. Crossing the Drake Passage to the Antarctic Convergence, where cold and warm waters collide, we witness the emergence of nutrients, attracting seabirds and whales for our first encounters with Antarctic wildlife. Venturing south to the South Shetland Islands and crossing the Bransfield Strait, we reach the Antarctic Peninsula—a world of immense scale with blue icebergs, penguin rookeries, diving seabirds, and breaching whales. Guided Zodiac excursions, kayaking opportunities, and a chance to camp on the Antarctic Peninsula offer immersive experiences. The MS Expedition, designed for the Southern Ocean, provides a sturdy ship with a passenger capacity of just over one hundred. With dining areas, presentation rooms, various cabin sizes, a mudroom, and viewing decks, ample space and entertainment are ensured onboard. Despite being relatively undiscovered by walkers, Fuerteventura offers an array of trails weaving through charming African-style architecture and vibrant, spice-coloured volcanoes, leading to its designation as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve in 2009, owing to its rich diversity of endemic flora and fauna. This centre-based walking holiday unfolds in the picturesque fishing village of La Lajita, allowing exploration of Fuerteventura on foot. Highlights include traversing the Betancuria Mountain Range, walking in the footsteps of the island's first inhabitants, the 'Guanches,' amidst the lava flows of Cuchillos de Vigan and Volcan de Jacomar. November in Nepal offers ideal trekking conditions, with clear skies, mild temperatures, and vibrant landscapes, making it one of the best times to explore the country's stunning Himalayan trails. Embark on the Annapurna Circuit trek for a journey through Nepal's diverse landscapes, from the humid farmlands along the Marsyangdi River and around Pokhara to the alpine realm and breathtaking mountain vistas north of the Annapurnas. Adapting to the evolving access to the major valleys surrounding the Annapurna Massif, our itinerary ensures an authentic Annapurna Sanctuary trekking experience, steering clear of roads and preserving the classic route. Starting at Jagat beside the Marsyangdi River, our trek leads us to Dharapani before turning west into the impressive valley on the north side of the Annapurnas, offering spectacular mountain views as we ascend to the villages of Ghyaru and Ngawal on the northern slopes. Venturing into the remote Buddhist enclave from Manang, acclimatisation walks to Ice Lake and Tilicho Lake prepare us for the challenging Thorung La (5416m) crossing, providing mesmerising views of Dhaulagiri and Mustang's red ridges. Madagascar, ranking as the world's fourth-largest island and equivalent in size to France, stands out for its remarkable diversity, untouched landscapes, and a unique blend of cultures. Renowned for lemurs and iconic baobab trees, the island also hosts a myriad of colourful birds, chameleons, and turtles, making it a haven for unique flora and fauna. Embarking on a cycling journey from the capital, Antananarivo, to the southeast corner, known locally as 'Tana,' the adventure unfolds through Madagascar's famed national parks—Ranomafana, Andringitra, and Isalo. Exploring beyond our bikes, we immerse ourselves in hiking experiences, seeking lemurs in Ranomafana, marvelling at towering granite cliffs in Andringitra, and exploring the diverse landscapes of Isalo, including a refreshing dip in the 'Piscine Naturelle.' Balancing vehicle transfers with manageable cycling stages on both tarmac and dirt roads, the journey culminates with two leisurely days at Ifaty on the Indian Ocean. This beachfront retreat serves as a fitting conclusion to an unforgettable cycling holiday, offering relaxation and the possibility of experiencing paradise on two wheels.
