The best experience of in my life

From Jiri to Namche Bazaar

A very varied trip with lots of adventure. It starts in a quiet rural part of Nepal that has been by-passed by the busier trekking routes since the development of the airport at Lukla, so you see Nepalese rural life close up - including locals doing their own reconstruction without much aid following the 2015 earthquake. Until you reach the Dudh Kosi valley and turn north, lodges are very basic but the food we had was always tasty and plentiful. Once you turn north the views of the ... sensational Dudh Kosi valley scenery, and towards the end the famous mountains - Sagmartha/Chomolungma (i.e. Everest), Lohtse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam and Tamserku, are brilliant! Although you never reach high altitudes on this trek, crossing the grain of the country means you climb 24,000' in 10 long days trekking. There are no flat bits. I have lost 9lbs of weight despite the good food and hearty eating - great workout!

Fantastic Experience

Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill Trek

A truly fantastic experience. From the outset, everything was extremely well organised and i was always kept fully informed.
On landing at Kathmandu airport I was met by the guide Dawa who throughout the trip acted in a very professional manner. His knowledge of all aspects of the trek, from the culture, traditions, together with the technical details was exceptional. The other guides and helpers were also excellent, always helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The programme for the trek ... had been carefully worked out to ensure a gradual acclimatisation to altitude occurred. Tea Houses provided good accommodation throughout and on arrival at them, the guides inspected the rooms to ensure suitability.
This was my first trip to Nepal and also my first ever trek, hopefully not my last. KE Adventure provided an outstanding service throughout and I would strongly recommend them to anyone wishing to Trek in Nepal.

A great mix of trekking in scenic locations and cultural experiences

Oman Adventure Trekking

The trek was very well organized from the initial airport pick-up to the final return to the group hotel. We started with a walking tour in Muscat around the Sultan's palace then the main souk, and next day we visited the Grand Mosque then made a short trek in the mountains en route to the first camp. We followed that with a half-day trek along the famous balcony trail and its spectacular views of the canyon below, then a full day trek from the camp across scenic limestone hills and wadis. The ... next day we did a wadi walk and swam in a beautiful natural pool, then stayed in the historic town of Nizwa where we enjoyed a tour of the souk and the fort with its excellent displays and information - I learned a lot about the production of indigo dye and its historic importance in Oman.

Due to the much hotter then normal weather the guide then recommended a change to the scheduled program, so instead of a long uphill mountain trek we drove into the desert and trekked and then camped in the dunes - a fantastic experience which I recommend replaces day 1 of the Selma Plateau mountain trek in future programs. We finished the holiday with a long but mostly downhill trek from the plateau and a night of camping by the beach. The program was well organized into 2 halves each with cultural visits and increasingly longer treks followed by an easy day to recover.
The guide was very helpful and made sure everybody understood the next day's program, and also picked safe routes that matched the ability of everyone in the group during treks. She and the assistants picked good camp sites, cooked great meals and kept us amused with stories of their other treks as well as helping us understand all aspects of Oman life. The group was only 9 people and this helped us interact well and get to know each other over the 9 days we were together.

I rated the holiday as excellent because of the ideal balance between cultural visits and scenic trekking, which let me get a all-round impression of the people, history and geography of central Oman in a short time. The holiday was everything I hoped for and made perfect by the unscheduled visit to the desert where we trekked among the amazing coloured dunes at sunset and sunrise.

An Island Custom Made for Trekking

La Gomera - Jewel of the Canaries Priv. Sylvester

La Gomera is more remote than most other of the Canaries and thus, offered an unspoiled, natural experience amongst some very historic trails. Each day was somewhat different with significant vertical climbs and or descents on all days. Hotels were clean, simple and we ate quite well at night. Our group was fortunate to have virtually perfect weather (mid November trip) with good views although I understand that fog and mist is not uncommon at higher altitudes. The difficulty rating for ... this hike is appropriate.

One of the best Moroccan treks

Winter Sunshine Walking in the Jebel Sahro - Morocco

What makes KE such a good adventure holiday company is the quality of their guides and again as usual Hassan Ait Brahim was exceptional. This is a fantastic trek for someone on a first trek to Morocco or equally, like myself who has done a few trips to the 4000metre peaks of the High Atlas. Another great thing about Morocco, it's only three and a half hours away and yes your in another continent, cant be bad. One slight criticism I would have would be that the Mogador Guilez although a lovely ... Hotel and I would gladly stay there again, it is a 45min walk to the center of Marrakech but it's only a 20Drm (£1:20) taxi ride each way. These Moroccan trips are exceptional value for money even when you add on the flights. Can't wait for the next one, all that needs to be done is browse through the 2016/2017 brochure. Good one again KE Adventure.

Every morning a different view, each day a lovely walk - once again the Berber guide, Mohammed, and his crew looked after us royally. Nothing was too much trouble for this caring, helpful guide. A super short holiday led at a comfortable pace by a knowledgeable and professional guide. Many thanks once again.

Brilliant trekking with a good measure of cultural sites thrown in.

Singalila Ridge and Chomolhari Basecamp

Two separate treks with contrasting environments from rhododendron and bamboo forests to high ridges and snow-capped peaks. Also a contrast in countries between the hustle and bustle of India and the peacefulness and quiet of Bhutan. The trip also included visits to interesting cultural sites such as the Himalayan Mountain Institute, Tea Plantation, Monasteries and ancient dzongs.

Take a warm sleeping bag and down jacket (even in October) as it can be very cold at night, particularly in ... the deep valleys of Bhutan.

Difficult, rewarding journey

Mukot Peak

The Mukot Peak trip was way more that I could have expected. Having been on a previous KE trip in the Himalayas (Mera 2012) I though I knew what to expect; weather, temperature, physicality, and the day to day routine. But this trip took everything to new extremes. Starting out in the hot, dry, and desert like Dolpo region then climbing up to base camp which was cold and snowed on us for several days/evenings. Our group was fortunate enough to grab the summit and the very first ascent! After ... which the walk out was much more challenging than expected. Having 3 > 5000m passes made for some difficult days, but also some spectacular views. This trip is not for the faint of heart. It will test you (everyone in our group got sick at some point), but the end result is a fantastic adventure that I will never forget.

FANTASTIC TURKISH TREK AND EXPERIENCE

Trek the High Taurus Mountains and Cappadocia

This is an awesome trek - but be fit before you go. Lots of ups (rocky ups) - stunning scenery and remote. Just a wonderful raw wilderness trek. Camp set ups & sites are brilliant and very comfortable. Food was great. I suggest fly into Kayseri the day before - a great & very cheap - Turkish city with NO tourists. 5 of us stayed at Bent Hotel Kayseri - its a great city to get into Turkish culture before your trek. Last 3 days in hotels and Cappadoccia are amazing. TREK IS FANTASTIC - ... LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!

Each day got better!

Chomolhari Basecamp and the Bonte La

A superb trek that lived up to its billing as one of the best short treks. The guides were knowledgeable (who knew there were that many stories about the divine madman?!), friendly and determined to give us the best experience of Bhutan. Helped by a friendly, hard working trek crew we were well looked after throughout. The festival and 'sightseeing' aspects of the trip were also enjoyable and if you can go when a festival coincides with the trip I would recommend it.

A wonderful walk through beautiful scenery.

Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill Trek

Well organised and the leader set a good steady pace through the long climbs.
Could have done with one day less, I think the overnight at Machhapuchchhre base camp was unnecessary and it would be better to press on to Annapurna Base Camp. There's not much to do at MBC and it's very cold so the time here dragged. The short walk on the following day to ABC then meant another cold, boring day waiting at ABC.
Apart from that a great holiday that's wet my appetite for the Annurpurna circuit.

A truly amazing adventure, and then we reached the summit!!!!

Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route

Don't be fooled by the slow start, watch the weighing when the porters are given their kit to carry, and enjoy the first couple of hours to the first camp, its the easiest day of the trip. Look out for the monkeys as you near the camp, apart from a few birds this may be the last wildlife you see over the next week. Each day brings new and more stunning scenery as you traverse the lower slopes, with glimpses of what's to come through the cloud. 'Pole, Pole' (slowly, slowly) is the mantra as you ... gradually climb higher, which you will only fully understand on the summit climb. Don't underestimate your gear for the final climb, you can't work hard enough to keep warm, layer on layer is the only answer, though after the sun rises you will want to strip off many of these layers. Take a good book for the early nights and eat everything put in front of you, i did and still lost about six pounds in weight. Talk to the guides throughout your journey, their knowledge and enthusiasm is infectious, stick to the tipping guide, take plenty of small denomination dollar bills, if you can donate any spare clothing and equipment at the end of your journey it is received with warmth and gratitude. A stunning trip which will be hard to surpass.

WHAT??? We're going all the way up THERE!!

Levada Trails and Peaks of Madeira

This walking holiday was the most exhausting thing we've done in a long time but what a fantastic time we had. The whole group just got on so well and everyone had a great time. Roberto, our guide, was brilliant and extremely knowledgeable regarding the whole of Madeira's history, flora and fauna. The views from all of the mountainous places we walked to were stunning and something that often took our breath away but be warned, when the guide tells you that you will be walking in "exposed" ... areas, he means that if you suffer from a fear of heights then beware, as there are a lot of places where there are sheer drops, with only a rope/wire hand rail to hold on to. I have to say we weren't affected by it but some of our group were. We normally don't walk the distances quoted so were both extremely proud to have completed each day with no problems at all even though we were always like the cows tail - last! If you're thinking of doing this holiday, just go for it as it is brilliant, we really can recommend it. Paula and Gavin Ball

A Beautiful Route Around the Khumbu

Everest the Hard Way Trek

Stunning route with a schedule (and difficulty rating) above a straight Everest Base Camp walk up - addition of the 3 high passes definitely makes for some demanding days! Overall, for somebody reasonably fit, I wouldn't say it's too strenuous though.

The scenes, sights and perspectives are nothing short of spectacularly beautiful, one truly does walk in the land of the giants. Acclimatisation schedule is spot on, and few of us suffered with any symptoms. Watch out for the "Khumbu cough" ... though!.. which a couple of the team came down with - a result of the combined dry air, altitude and some long days.

Sleeping conditions in the tea houses are comfortable and the Nepali's are the most gracious and welcoming of hosts. Prepare yourself for a continuous Himalayan diet of soup, mo-mo's (fried dumplings), macaroni, pasta, and largely vegetarian additions. Might spot some prawn crackers later in the trip! Definitely take some spending money for some treats, wifi and phone / camera charges and remember that these get progressively more expensive as you move away from Namche.

Overall, I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. The Sherpa guides and their respective teams are excellent, everything is well organised, accommodation comfortable, and sights breathtaking. Couldn't ask for much more, and this is a trip I will remember for life.

It was the trip of a lifetime, I feel very privileged

The Snowman Trek

The trip was fab from start to finish- we were welcomed like superstars and congratulated like medal winners. Cooked for, waited on hand and foot and the attention to detail on the trek was outstanding.
I have never had a thermarest so luxurious, I had great fun catching up and sharing a tent with with my longstanding but not seen often friend, Kate. My other companions were good fun and easy-going.
The real superstar of the trip was our guide, Namgay, who enlightened and entertained us ... constantly with stories of Bhutan and Buddhism and the way of life, he even organised the great weather! I will be back....
