My name is Alasdair and I work in the Marketing team at KE Adventure. A couple of months ago I was asked if I wanted to join one of our Everest Base Camp Treks. Who would say no?! But then it dawned on me, I had just a few weeks to prepare for an incredibly gruelling high altitude trek in a country I had never been to before.

Needless to say I had loads of questions. But luckily, working at KE Adventure I have a multitude of experienced people I could ask about Nepal. So, I grabbed a few of them for a chat in front of a camera to help share their answers.

There's no getting away from it, the classic Everest Base Camp Trek is a Grade 7. It's not a walk in the park so you do need to be fit. In this video I spoke to Rachel, one of our Adventure Travel Consultants, on preparing for the challenge.

Not to be feared, but to be respected - altitude sickness is a bit of an unknown, but what is it, can it affect me along the Everest Base Camp trek and how can I prepare for it? I talked with our KE Operations Manager Tim to find out more.
