Gondoro La - From K2 to Hushe

Crossed the Gondogoro La in great weather. Everybody happy. Spectacular views from the top of Broad Peak, K2, Chogolisa and the Gasherbrums. We made a safe descent of the steep slopes using fixed ropes to our camp at Huisprung.  Looking forward to a shower in Skardu!

Having had a rest and acclimatisation day in Paiju, we then crossed the Baltoro Glacier, just an hours walk from camp.  We continued along moraines to Horbose and have camped beside the Liligo Glacier.  We have incredible views of Cathedral Towers and the rock tower of Uli Biaho.

Hi from Juhla campsite. Just arrived after a good walk out of Askole.  After our drive on the KKH to Skardu we have made up time today by trekking beyond the Biafo Glacier and the  camp at Korofon to our campsite at Juhla.    The stars are big and bright as I send this sat phone message. All good here, Ade

Sallam from Skardu.  It is great to be back in this amazing town on the edge of the Karakorum. We had a fantastic drive up the Karakorum Highway (KKH) passing many of the mountain giants here in Pakistan.

We are now in Skardu and getting organised for our trek up the Baltoro Glacier and onto Concordia to see the mighty K2 before crossing the Gondoro La.  Finally we will return to civilization in the hospitable town of Hushe before returning to Skardu and our flight back to Islamabad and home.

We are looking forward to our first day of trekking to Askole in the Braldu Valley where we will set up camp at 3000 metres.

Whenever possible I will keep you posted on our progress so make sure you check back soon to see where we are on this incredible journey!
