A fun-filled week of getting to grips with a pair of snowshoes? Of course! Our Mont Blanc Snowshoe Week has everything you could possibly want from a week long winter adventure.

I arrived into Geneva with my immediate thought being – Wow! It is warm. I’m supposed to be here for a week of snowshoeing! Where’s the snow? Where’s the chill in the air? Thankfully, after just over an hours’ drive to the Chamonix valley, the scenery and weather was becoming much more like I was expecting. The mountains here made my regular views of the Lake District fells look a little lacking in comparison!

Over the next 5 days, I took part in some terrific walks and despite getting used to some strange new apparatus on my feet; it didn’t take long to get into the swing of things. Only a few members of our group had experience of snowshoeing but the rest of us were beginners, which wasn’t a problem at all with this itinerary. Each day is different from the last and every one of them ends with a well-earned hot chocolate and a blueberry muffin (my favourite!) back at our cosy chalet, Yeti Lodge. A personal highlight for me was the ascent of L’Arpille. Clear blue skies with sun beating down on us meant the need to shed a few layers. Most of us were down to our t-shirts! We were rewarded at the summit of a brilliant view of the Rhone valley. Just fantastic!

After a wonderful week with a lovely group of KE clients, I’m pleased to say that this won’t be my last snowshoe adventure!
