Our Holiday Grades Explained

To show the relative difficulty of our holidays, each trip is graded on a scale of 1 to 12, with 12 being the most challenging. Although we have tried to make our grading system as clear as possible, it cannot take into account your personal interests, abilities or experience. If you have any questions about the nature of a particular trip or its suitability for you, please read the 'Is this holiday for you?' section or contact us.

Suitable for most people in good health, holidays at this grade include only limited amounts of activity.

Wadi Rum and the Dead Sea Extension

Highlights
Arriving at Wadi Rum, you will meet your Bedouin hosts and have the rest of the day to soak up the desert atmosphere, before settling down to sleep either in one of our traditonal goat's hair tents, or outside under the canopy of stars - your choice! Day 2 is a full day of trekking in the region with a second night under canvas in the Wadi Rum National Park. On Day 3, we leave the desert for the salty-low of the Dead Sea. With free time to soak in the saline waters, we head onto Mount Nebo before continuing onto our accommodation in Madaba.

Itinerary

You will say goodbye to the main group on morning of Day 8 and travel by private transfer to the village of Rum at the heart of the Wadi Rum protected area. You will meet your Bedouin hosts and drive out to a camp in the desert. In the afternoon we will explore the local mountains and desert by jeep.

A full day of exploring and hiking in the desert of Wadi Rum with your Bedouin guide. The Burdah Bridge makes a great objective that includes some scrambling. Check out the rock inscriptions and find the best perspectives for amazing desert photographs. Return to spend a second night at the desert camp.

Leaving the desert behind, we head for an ever-so salty experience at the Dead Sea. With free time for floating at the lowest point on earth we move on to the historic Mount Nebo before transferring to our hotel in Madaba.

After breakfast we take our private transfer to Amman International Airport for our onwards flight home.
