How long does it take to trek the Tour du Mont Blanc?

Can a beginner do the Tour du Mont Blanc trek?

If you’ve never done a walking holiday in France before then the Tour du Mont Blanc is a great challenging introduction to the wonderful world of alpine trekking. However, it is tough with even the easier trips require you to be a good weekend walker before setting off. For those looking for more of a challenge then our Ultimate Tour du Mont Blanc is a hefty Grade 9, suitable for experienced walkers with a good level of fitness and will require training before departing.

Is the Tour du Mont Blanc trek steep?

The short answer is yes. You will be climbing high up over mountain passes before descending back down to verte alpine meadows. It will be steep at times, but it is forgiving and you will find flatter sections.

Can you suffer altitude sickness on the Tour du Mont Blanc?

Altitude is unlikely to affect you along the Tour du Mont Blanc. However, our Ultimate Tour du Mont Blanc Trek does reach 2,800m, which can bring on some symptoms. So we recommend learning a bit about altitude and if on a guided tour make sure you let your leader know if you ever develop any symptoms.
