Travelling to the US?

  • 28 January 2016

Changes in the ESTA. Take note of these changes

The U.S. Authorities have made changes to their entry requirements which will affect any dual nationality customer who has a passport issued by a country which is eligible under the U.S. visa Waiver Programme AND a passport issued by Iran, Iraq, Sudan and Syria. These customers with dual nationality will no longer be able to enter the U.S. using an ESTA under the Visa Waiver Programme.

In addition any customer who has an ESTA and that has visited Iran, Iraq, Sudan or Syria since March 1, 2011 should also expect not to be able to use the Visa Waiver Programme.

These customers will require a U.S. visa for future travel to the United States, and should contact their local US Embassy.

KE Leaders are really important to us and are crucial to the success of each trip. Each year we like to recognise our leaders for their efforts as we simply could not function without them.

Every year we ask you to vote for your favourite leaders and to let us know why they helped to make your adventure that extra bit special. From over 1000 votes received from KE Customers a shortlist of the Top 5 leaders has been selected and with the help of our expert panel we are delighted to announce our 2015 Leader of the Year!

The Wild Side of Guatemala

Days 1 to 2.

I flew to Guatemala with United Airlines. Descending to Newark Airport at the end of the first leg was impressive, with the Empire State and New York’s other high-rise real estate on the left side of the plane. On the second flight, I recall long spells of turbulence as we crossed the Gulf of Mexico at night, with the seat-back TV's flaring and flickering in the dark – quite surreal after a long day of travel. I arrived at Guatemala City Airport in the early hours and transferred to our hotel in the old part of Antigua. After just a few hours sleep, I got up for breakfast and met the clients and our local guides, Matt and Oseas. Picking up our bikes, we set off mid-morning for an introductory ride on the slopes of Volcan Agua, one of the 3 volcanoes that overlook this former Spanish Colonial city. We climbed on a good forest road from 1480 metres to close to 2000, then dropped back down on narrow and sometimes flowing singletrack through fields of maize and other crops - we were out for 2.5 hours, covering about 14 kilometres. After a late lunch in town we had free time to wander the cobbled streets and see the many bars and restaurants. We regrouped for dinner at the Rainbow Cafe in the evening.

An appeal to purchase uniforms and equipment for children in Nepal. Just $50 (£35) will purchase a school uniform, winter coat, shoes, bag, books and pencils for one child. If the appeal is successful, we can raise the bar to help more children.

Following the extreme weather events in Keswick, Cumbria this weekend we just want to say thanks for all your support and messages from all over the world. The KE office survived the flood but unfortunately some of the staff houses were affected, however the KE team are safe and well and it's business as usual.
