Fully Bonded and No Surcharges

With post- Brexit exchange rates creating soaring costs in many countries some travellers are tempted to put their own package together on the web in a bid to save cost. There are plenty of local operators all around the globe selling all types of adventure holidays, but the majority have no bonding and so your payment is not protected. Do you really want to take this risk, especially following the recent collapse of the Low Cost Travel Group which left over 100,000 out of pocket?

Congratulations to Kathleen Hughes from Southampton for winning the tent in our June KEnews competition.

Read Kathleens story about how she sold the tent to raise funds for the Juniper Trust Nepal Trek in November, visiting the schools we have rebuilt alongside The Juniper Trust.

An Alpine Love Affair

Written by  Dace Ekerte - Adventure Travel Consultant

If you’re thinking of doing a long distance walk somewhere in Europe, then the Best of the Tour du Mont Blanc holiday would be an excellent choice. I joined this holiday in June. It was my first time in the Alps and I think that the first impression is always the most important - I was stunned by scenery what I saw.

Leave your review for your chance to win!

Congratulations to KE traveller Dr Andrew French who's just won a £2,000 AITO holiday voucher towards his next KE holiday simply by submitting an independent online review on the AITO website. Sail Island out of the fog, now you are a ship with peaks as mast trees. You head out with mountains far out on a world journey” - poetry by Christian Matras from the collection of Faroese poems.

Fresh Air, wind, high mountains, fascinating fog & breathtaking views are certainly a few of the things I experienced on my first trip to the Faroe Islands.

From Mountains to Momos - A food journey to Everest

Written by  Gemma Waterworth - Customer Sales and Support

A trip to Nepal should be high on the bucket list of any adventure traveller and is certainly a must for anyone working within the travel industry. So, when I found out that I would be making the amazing journey to Everest Basecamp, I was over the moon. For me though, the journey would not just be about the amazing trekking, the towering peaks of the Himalaya or the local people that I would encounter along the way, for me it would also be about the food.

Mukot Peak, 6087m, Lower Dolpo Nepal October 2015

Mukot Peak, 6087m, Lower Dolpo Nepal October 2015

I was thinking that it had been quite some time since I thought I had made a first ascent of a Himalayan peak. In fact it was way back in 1979 and I say thought I had made a first ascent because unless someone builds a cairn, sticks a flag on it or writes about it somewhere, you just never know whether you are really the first. I’m not sure that it matters all that much anyway, it’s not a competition.
