 Back-to-back Adventures

Spend less time and money on international flights and more time exploring a destination with back-to-back adventures.

Many of our trips can flow into one another and our team can help advise on the travel in between. From spending up to a month island-hopping in the Canary Islands, taking the train between hot-spots in Italy, to exploring both Armenia and Georgia on the fringes of Europe.

Further afield, you could climb Kilimanjaro then go on a safari, enjoy both desert and peaks in Morocco, trek in mainland Ecuador, then enjoy the Galapagos or take on two of the best trekking routes in Nepal; the Annapurna Sanctuary followed by Everest Base Camp. Here are a few adventure ideas and top tips to get you started.

Turkey's Lycian Way East & West

Walk Turkey’s stunning Lycian Coast for a fantastic two-week walking holiday. Set off at your own pace, stopping at any café which takes your fancy, and follow our detailed route notes and GPS track on the East and West section. Or pick up the local history and travel with like-minded travellers during the East section on our guided small group trip, before setting off self-guided.

Combine these trips: Lycian Way East Guided or Lycian Way East Self-Guided and the Lycian Way West Self-Guided.

Combine Annapurna and Everest

With over 30 trips to choose from throughout Nepal our team can advise on back-to-backing any of these routes, but if it’s your first time to Nepal, we thoroughly recommend travelling to the Annapurna region first and completing the Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill trek, then hopping over to the Khumbu region to trek to Everest Base Camp. By trekking in the Annpurnas first, which are a lower elevation, you’ll be even better acclimatised for trekking to Everest and reaching 5600m at the end of your holiday.

Combine these trips: Annapurna Sanctuary and Poon Hill and the Everest Base Camp Trek

*TOP TIP: Look out for international flights with mid-week departures. These could be a significantly cheaper and our team can book your additional nights pre or post trip.

Hop on the ferry to link Italy with Albania

With a couple of ferry operators offering day or overnight crossing from Bari, Italy to Durres, Albania, this short hop across the Adriatic Sea is a lower carbon impact way of linking up these two completely different countries. Start with our Cycling Holiday in Puglia (along Italy's heal) where you can enjoy Monopoli, the Salentro coast, Lecce and even stay the night in a traditional trullo house in Alberobello. Finishing in Bari, sail across the Adriatic, arriving into Durres and then catch the bus into Albania's capital Tirana for a private transfer to the start of our Southern Albania Coastal Walking holiday.

Combine these trips: Self-Guided Cycling Holiday in Puglia and self-guided South Albania Coast Walking holiday.

Border-Crossing in the Balkans

We have a huge collection of trekking adventures all across the Balkans – an area offering fantastic value and outstanding mountain trails. For a three-week multi-country extravaganza, start inland hiking in Serbia, Bosnia, Kosovo and Montenegro then finish along Croatia’s islands and the Dalmatian Coast.

Combine these trips: Through the Heart of the Balkans with Walking the Balkan Borderlands and finish with Croatia's Coast and Islands

A month (or less) in the Canary Islands

The Canary Islands are a great sunny walking and cycling destination which is well connected with ferries and internal flights. Start with our NEW self-guided walking holiday on Tenerife, then join our guided group trip to La Gomera (which includes the starting ferry from Tenerife). Next explore the hidden trails on Fuerteventura and after that, slow the pace down on our centre-based Lanzarote self-guided trip with car hire included.

Combine these trips: Walking on Tenerife followed by La Gomera - The Jewel of the Canaries. Next Discover Fuerteventura then finish on Lanzarote

Sailing, Cycling and Walking in the Greek Islands

Test out your sea legs and stretch your land legs on our unique holiday, recently selected as 'Europe's Best Sailing Holiday' by the Irish Independent. This trip combines time sailing the waters of the Aegean Sea, with some truly fantastic day walks on different Greek Islands. After that, hop on a bike (or e-bike) and spend a week cycling on the sun-kissed island of Kefalonia, and follow that with a week on Crete with spectacular walks such as the Samaria Gorge.

Combine these trips: Sailing and Hiking the Cyclades and Cycling on Kefalonia and finish Walking on Crete

*TOP TIP We can book additional nights pre and post tour, these can be especially handy if you can work remotely meaning you don’t have to head home to the office between trips. Fewer flights are better for the planet too!

The Andes, the Amazon and the Galapagos

Complete one of our Inca Trail trips in Peru, or our brilliant hiking or climbing adventures in Ecuador, and then spend the next week relaxing and wildlife watching in the Galapagos Islands. You can speak to Emily in the KE office who did just that. If you can spare even more time away, we also have extensions into the Amazon which can be found on the ‘Extend you holiday’ tab on many of our South America holidays.

Combine these trips: Inca Trail to Machu Picchu or Walking in Ecuador with Exploring in the Galapagos

Temples and Trails in India

Start your adventure discovering the jewels of Northern India, on our holiday to Jaipur, Delhi, Agra and Varanasi. Journey beyond the ‘Golden Triangle’ and observe an abundance of wildlife at Ranthambore Tiger Reserve, and take a boat down the Ganges to experience sunrise over Varanasi. After this relaxed immersion into India, you can then join our unique-to-KE trek into the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand and trek into the Nada Devi Sanctuary. Here you can cross the Kuari Pass (3650m) and experience breath-taking views of the sacred mountain Nanda Devi, a giant peak just shy of 8000m (7816m).

Combine these trips: Best of Northern India with the Curzon's Trail and the Kuari Pass

After you book with us, you can get a great discount on a Water-To-Go bottle. This keeps tap water safe to drink, and cuts down on the need for plastic bottled water through your time abroad.

Explore Sweden’s southwest coast by bike and on foot

Starting in Helsingborg, just 6km over the Oresund Strait from Denmark, you’ll spend the next 6 days riding quiet roads north along the coast before arriving into Gothenberg. From here you can enjoy a few days sightseeing before setting off on the second week of your adventure, island hopping in the Bohuslän Archipelago, with time to take a dip in idyllic swimming spots, before finishing the tour back in Gothenberg with easy links to head back home.

Combine these trips: Self-Guided Cycling Sweden's South West Coast and Self-Guided Walking: West Sweden Island Hopping
